Abstract-

In the world that we live in young people influence each in a completely obvious and unsubtle way. While it is known that human being’s behavior is a result of the effect of the real or the imagined presence of others. Whether it is by the media, television, internet, or radio they all have an effect on the lives of others. Because young people can be influenced into the process and the outcome of harmonious decisions. Which may lead to developing criminal thinking patterns.

Introduction-

Human beings influence each other on a daily basis blatantly and furtively. The degree to which delinquency is impact. Adolescence is a time of transition (Siegel, 2012). From early childhood, the child is exposed to media coverage at home and this does not happen accidentally, but continuously (Sterian & Mocanu, p. 35). A mother will sit her child in front of a television set to keep the child occupied while the mother tends to do other things. Some television programs set and depicts deviant acts which are conducted in the mind of young children.

Children will imitate what they see on television and what they see their parents do, some parent will help them. For example, the child will tell the parent to buy him a superman pajama set. The child will go around the house imitating what he has seen on television.

Social learning suggests that children who grew in a home where violence is a way of life may learn to believe that behavior is acceptable and rewarding even if the child is told to do as I say not as I do (Siegel, 2012) which most parents tell their child. Children will imitate what they see their parents doing or their guardian.

The role of the media is to inform the public. However, the media does have an effect on delinquency. The broadcasting of violence such as violent movies and reality shows. For example, Bad Girls. The media shows violence, sex, and war daily. Children become defiant when they continually watch violence on television and violent video games. Not all television shows and video games are violent but the poplar ones are. When a child spends over seven hours a day playing a violent game he will more than likely become aggressive. This aggressive behavior can lead to delinquency and more defiant moods. American Indians have the highest delinquency of all races and ethnic group in America (Greenfeld and Smith, 1999).
