Requirement:

Your task is to prepare an executive briefing that provides a comprehensive overview of a current topic that has important implications for the operations strategy of a specific industry sector. You have considerable leeway in deciding the topic you research and therefore in how you structure your research report. Suitable approaches depend on the topic you choose, the specific aspects of the topic you are particularly interested in, and the sources of information that are publically available. The key is that you choose a topic area that; (i) the group has a strong interest in, (ii) the topic is indeed significant to the operations strategy of Canadian companies competing in the industry, and (iii) there is sufficient information available that you can thoroughly research the topic. With these three elements in place, the details of how best to structure your plans for the project will be worked out in consultation with the instructor.

• Main Topic: Corporate social responsibility as it relates to outsourcing production to countries in order to minimize labour costs. Examples of industries where this issue has gained a lot of attention include; the textile / clothing industry, athletic footwear, computers, smartphones and other consumer electronics.

This is a group project, and you just focus on HP company (or if you have another great idea, please pm me.)
