• An outline of the major sub-topics to be covered (i.e. section headings)

Step 3:

You are required to submit to your instructor a one-paragraph update on your progress in researching and writing your Course Research Paper or Course Case Study:

For both the Course Research Paper and the Course Case Study:

• Define what progress you have made, what you have remaining to do, and what your plan is for doing it.

• Explain to your instructor any issues you are having and/or ask any questions you have.

Course Description:

This course focuses on the major causative agent in aircraft accidents: the human being. Emphasisis placed on psychological and physiological factors that enhance the accident probability. Includedis a detailed analysis of ergonomics (human engineering) and its influence in aviation design.

Course Goals:

This course is designed to provide the student with a detailed understanding of the influences ofhuman factors in error causation and accident prevention and control.

The student willunderstand the specific human factor areas of error, physiology, and psychology and enablehim/her to analyze and provide corrective/preventative inputs to organizational and operationalenvironments in aviation.
