The Robinson text notes that medical insurance is currently a voluntary benefit. Employers are not now legally required to offer it to employees although it is expected of most large employers. But as health insurance reform legislation progresses in coming years it will be interesting to see how medical insurance transforms from a voluntary benefit into a mandatory requirement for employers. 

Explore the Internet concerning health insurance reform. What do you find there regarding how mandatory medical insurance benefits may affect employers?  Employees? On the basis of what you found do you conclude that proposed medical insurance reform is worthwhile or not?
