A. Odyssey has two crucial elements to it. It is journey, but also process of self-discovery. For some, their high school years are odyssey, for others their marriage, career or military service. Recognize odyssey in your life (or in life of someone close to you). What series of events constitute journey, and what did you learn about yourself?
B. What was life like for Harriet Jacobs as young slave girl in south? How did Dr. Flint, his wife, and Harriet's mother influence her life? What did Harriet do, both as 15-year old girl, and as author later in life?
C. Distinguish Cabulliwallah to Mini's father. Think about different jobs/social positions, countries, personalities, etc. Think about relationship between two men.
D. Why does war occur, and how does it influence people who have been involved? Choose the war or similar conflict (Trojan War, American Civil War, WWI, WWII, Iraq war). Explain how it started and what its results are/were, especially for those who fought.
