In your responses, discuss how you have been impacted by the Affordable Care Act and what, if any, revisions you would like to see made to better the program. Brian Davis Yesterday The Affordable Care Act is a challenging and sensitive subject. With the vast views, policies and processes it addresses there will always be a debate. Simply put, the idea and purpose of the ACA was to lower costs and improve access. A goal was to increase quality and affordability.

However the affordability was a massive failure and moreover was the access. Each plan was not supported nor accepted by all providers. The mission of preventative care through work, school and center programs is ground breaking.

Unlike the Middle Ages the idea is to spread education and utilizing corporate, school and center programs is ideal to reach the largest population. So again, the idea, purpose, goal and mission are positive to improve public health and advance health education but the execution was rushed and poorly planned. The idea of being proactive vs reactive is what will cause change.

With change comes challenges. Those challenges must be mitigated through planning as we have expressed in the passing weeks. The ACA was rushed to meet deadlines and lacked the full support it needed from those choice individuals and agencies. Because choice few have a lot to lose by making health care affordable, those 1%'ers refute the ACA.

To serve the public better the ACA must be re-examined and objectives need to be developed to mitigate the lessons learned. Education on health, wellness and preventative care will always benefit public health.

The ACA is the first stone in the construction of affordable care and advancing public health.
