Of the utmost importance is the review of the sentencing guidelines related to crimes that are perceived to be civil in nature but receive criminal sanctions (e.g., undocumented entry into the U.S., use of illegal drugs, and tax evasion). You were elected to the research subcommittee on the joint commission.

You were also elected to chair the research subcommittee.
