Read the problem situations 1 below and develop (list) tasks and subtasks for the problem. List at least 5 tasks (can be more) and their associated subtasks for these problems. Label the tasks as Task 1, Task 2, etc., and the subtasks as Task 1.1, Task 1.2, etc., and the subsubtasks, if any, as Task 1.1.1, Task 1.1.2, etc. Make sure that each task/subtask is an “activity” related to the particular problem, does not overlap with other tasks/subtasks, is measurable in terms of progress, can have specific duration and definite outcomes, and is assignable to one or more people for performing it. Do not list tasks with only one subtask, in which case the subtask is not really needed. Indent the subtasks under each task.

Note that for the problem below you need a task or two in the beginning on analyzing the problem, defining the requirements, scoping and planning the project, etc., and similarly, each problem needs a task or two at the end to document and report the project results and deliverables, and transfer the project to the client. You need not know a lot about the problem situations to develop high level tasks and subtasks.

1. You are a member of an honor society and you want students to take pride in the Engineering Building (EB) and keep classrooms, labs, and others areas clean and learner- friendly. You want to propose a project “Be Proud of EB” to the honor society to publicize, organize, and implement a campaign to motivate students to keep EB clean and friendly. You want to prepare a proposal to share with the officers of the honor society.
