Read the following post and give your opinion about the topics discussed in a 150 minimum word response:

1. What is moral integrity? 2. What temptations will you face in choosing moral integrity as a basis for your professional actions? 3. What is the best way for you to maintain your moral integrity?

Moral integrity is “the process of consistently applying virtue and practical wisdom to make ethical decisions”. (Morrison, 2016) It is how you relate to others, live together, consider context and show compassion, courage, honesty and respect to one another.   When you are a healthcare administrator you are often faced with many ethical dilemmas. You are called upon to do what produces the most good and the least amount of harm.   Your moral integrity may be tested at times. You may be tempted to choose an action that may be good for person, but cause harm too many. In addition, you may see a co-worker do something that will cause harm to the company, but be tempted to not report it because they may lose their job.   You may also be tempted to not report something if you are the benefactor of such action. It is sad but a lot of people are motivated by money and, to some, that means more than their moral integrity.

There are many things that you can do to maintain your moral integrity. One action would be to define your moral bottom line. This means that you need to define what actions and/or incidents would cause you to take action and speak out and/or resign from your position. Another effective way to maintain moral integrity would be to design a preventative plan to deter you from committing immoral acts. You need to figure out who you really are and understand what actions and behaviors would cause you to want to deviate from your morality.
