Karen is buying at Big Mart. She has using her an umbrella which is the identical brand Big Mart carries. When a Big Mart employee Steve sees her leave with the umbrella devoid of going through the checkout lane, he requests her to come back into the store. Steve utters that he thinks Karen is shoplifting the umbrella. Karen says him that she has had the umbrella for years as well as shows him marks of wear and tear. Steve make an apology and tells Karen she is free to go. Can Karen effectively sue for false imprisonment or defamation? From what you have erudite about the relationship between a principal and an agent, analyze whether Steve or Big Mart could be accountable because of Steve's actions.
