Question: The "voice" of our written word is as important as the message itself. It's equivalent to our "tone of voice" when we are communicating verbally. A friendly voice increases the chance of a free and open exchange between sender and receiver. A serious, professional voice gives importance to a topic and is likely to encourage attentiveness. An abrupt, curt voice can create a negative reaction on the part of the receiver (even if it's not intended) and makes the receiver less likely to understand and embrace your idea.
