Question: The topic for this week has been motivation with a heavy focus on the specific motive of hunger. As discussed in the lecture and text, two-thirds of all Americans report wanting to lose weight and at any given point and many of those people are on some form of a diet. In the lecture, I discussed the presence of "fad diets". For this discussion, you will select a "fad diet" of your choice and conduct research on it using the Internet, books, and/or interviews of people you know who have tried your selected method. Once you have finished your research, respond to the following:

Report the main components of your "fad diet" including how it works, what you are required to do/not do or eat/not eat, and the time line for results.

Report the main advantages and disadvantages of your selected diet (another way of thinking about this might be the rewards and dangers).

What role do you think the media (movies, television, music, magazines, etc.) plays in contributing to the negative self-views that often accompany a desire to lose weight and/or eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia? Explain.
