Question: THE SCIENCE OF LEARNINGINSTRUCTIONS
Whether you are pursuing your education, career, or personal improvement, it is imperative that you have a firm understanding of your approach to learning. To do this, you will complete two different assessments that focus on different learning profiles. First, you will explore your personality profile by completing a Myers-Briggs assessment. If you have taken one previously, it is required that you complete it again during this assignment in order to ensure that your personality approach has not evolved.
Second, you will complete the VARK assessment, which is an updated approach to the traditional learning styles. VARK is an acronym which stands for visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic. As you complete the assessment, select ALL of the appropriate responses per question.
Answer the questions using the template below. Then, submit this document with your responses to Blackboard. (Syllabus MLO: C, F and Module 3 LOs: 4, 5, 6)
Respond to each section with a minimum of 3 sentences per question. NOTE: All questions below are required.
SECTION 1: Complete the Personality Assessment by going to website of 16personalities. Once you have the results, answer the questions below. (NOTE: This test is free. Any paid aspect of the assessment is optional.)
• What was your result (e.g. ENTP-A) and descriptor (e.g. Debater)?
• Read through the section about Strengths and Weaknesses. Identify one strength and one weakness that relates to how you approach learning or your assignments.
• Read through the section about Careers. What do you most resonate with? What do you think they got wrong when describing you? Does it align with your current career trajectory?
• Read through the section about Workplace Habits. While this is written for workplace habits, there is often correlation with our learning experience. What are some areas in this section that help you better understand how to approach learning?
• Read through the section about Strengths and Weaknesses. Identify one strength and one weakness that relates to how you approach learning or your assignments.
SECTION 2: Complete the VARK Assessment. Once you have the results, answer the questions below. (NOTE: When taking the assessment, make sure that you choose all responses that apply.)
• After completing the assessment, what were your results? Be specific and provide the scores.
