Why drove the movement for a new constitution in 1780s America? What are the primary differences between the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution of the United States? What arguments did Federalists and Anti-Federalists use to justify their arguments for and against the new Constitution?

- The ideas of Hamilton and Jefferson have a profound impact on the development of the United States. What are the basic ideas of Hamiltonian and Jeffersonian and how did these two distinct ideologies develop in the 1790s? How did these ideas evolve through the Civil War?

From these disparate ideas can a single American definition of liberty be drawn?
