Question: Option #1: Needs Analysis and Proposal for Training Solution

Throughout this course, a great deal of information has been discussed regarding the importance of training and development as related to employee recruitment and retention. Therefore, this final Portfolio Project is a culmination of your learning throughout the past eight weeks.
For this Portfolio Project, you will write a report on a perceived training need, within a past or present organization that you have worked for. While you do not need to identify the organization, you should provide information related to the following:

1. The organization's industry-type, workforce size, and overview of relevant HR information (e.g., HR Department size, the involvement of HR, etc.).

2. A description of the foundational issue(s) that has created a need for training.

i. Explain the issue. Provide a detailed statement of the problem.

ii. Address how you would collect further information to determine if this is an issue including a high-level assessment of skills, costs, and risks.

iii. A flowchart of the process to conduct research and collect data for decision-making (does not have to fit any specific process form, just make it clear). Include the flowchart in your Word document for submission.

3. A proposed solution to address the organizational issue.

i. Provide a general proposal for a training solution, including learning objectives, recommendations and justifications for development, implementation, technologies, and assessment type.

Your paper should be 8-10 pages in length, not including the title or references pages, with support from 6-8 scholarly sources. The CSU-Global library is a good place to find these sources. Be sure your paper conforms to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA.

Option #2: Designing a Training Program

Throughout this course, a great deal of information has been discussed regarding the importance of training and development, as related to employee recruitment and retention. Therefore, this final Portfolio Project is a culmination of your learning throughout the past eight weeks.

For the Portfolio Project, you may choose to build a training plan. Identify a common training problem that organizations struggle with and the best way to address this problem. Examples of organizational issues include, but are not limited to the following: conflict, communication, team challenges, sexual harassment issues, change management problems, workplace bullying etc. You will also determine how to implement the training by identifying the method of delivery.

Your PowerPoint presentation, which will be presented to the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Chief Human Resource Officer of your company, must include the following points:

1. Identification of the issue and how training can address this issue.

2. An overview of why the training is needed. Include the learning objectives that you have identified for the program.

3. Justify your rationale for the proposed training method. Examine, through research, what other organizations have done, in terms of training methods, to address this issue.

4. Create a flowchart of the process to conduct research and collect data for decision-making. Include the flowchart in your Word document for submission.

5. Propose high-level training solutions, including recommendations and justifications for development, implementation, technologies, and assessment type.

6. Explain how the training will be evaluated and how it can improve the organization's culture.

Your presentation should be 14-17 slides in length, which include detailed notes under each slide, with support from 6-8 scholarly sources. The CSU-Global library is a good place to find these sources. Be sure any references you use conform to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA and are presented on a final slide.
