Question: Journal: In this unit, we explore the roles of the Stafford Act, National Response Framework (NRF) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) during times of emergencies. Together, their scope is broad, yet following any major disaster there is usually public outcry that not enough assistance is being provided by the federal government or that there is too much red tape in the assistance process.
If you or your home were to be impacted by a disaster, do you feel there is overlap or gaps in the federal assistance strategies and resources that would be available to you or your state? Explain your concern, and give an example of how it might personally affect you.
