Question: Individual Writing-Middle Man

In this assignment, you will be exposed to the ever-changing work environment SPPs often face when they are working with sport teams and organizations. Issues related to traveling with teams, sharing living space, and personal time will be addressed. You will also consider one of the most important questions consultants/educators face in their work when they receive payment from an employer (or any third party) to provide services for employees (athletes, coaches, support staff)-who is your client?

For this assignment, perform the following tasks:

1. Read the following article:

- Haberl, P., & Peterson, K. (2006). Olympic-size ethical dilemmas: Issues and challenges for sport psychology consultants on the road and at the Olympic Games. Ethics & Behavior, 16(1), 25-40.

2. Choose one of the options below:

- You are employed as a sport psychology counselor (SPC) by a sport organization to provide performance enhancement services for athletes.

- You are employed as an SPC by a college coach to work with the team.

- You are employed as an SPC by a parent to work with a child, adolescent, or college-going athlete.

3. Based on the option you have selected, write a three- to five-page paper covering the following:

- What are the potential ethical pitfalls you could face in your work with athletes as their SPC while receiving payment from a third party? What ethical dilemmas could arise?

- How would you deal with these potential pitfalls? How would you resolve the ethical issues?

Your paper should be in the Microsoft Word document format. All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.
