Question: For your final assignment, you will produce a creative project that imagines a new vision for taking up space and moving through the world. Your project should attempt to address the following questions through words and image (photograph series, short video, a live performance, or a recorded performance):

In what ways are you (or another individual or group that is the subject of your project) constrained, enabled, and/or limited in your mobility by the intersections of one or more of your identities (race, gender, sexuality, physical ability, class, religion, or other identities)? How do you, or the individual/group that is the subject of your project, imagine alternative ways of creating space or home in the world? How can your alternative visions and dreams help others to break barriers (real or imagined) of gender and sexuality in society?

Your final project will include the creative work itself, and short written component- a 3-5 page artists statement about the artwork and its connection to the larger themes of the class. Creative final projects will be shown / presented on the last day of class.

I need a short, 1-2 paragraph proposal.

The proposal needs to state:

1. What is the subject(s) of your project, and how will it attempt to answer one or more of the questions above?

2. What creative form will your project take? Why is it important that it be in this form? (ie why and how will the medium you choose help you answer the above questions better than a traditional paper)

3. What is your work-plan so that you will finish this project and its written component to be ready by the last day of class (Wednesday, May 30)?
