View the Ted talk video: The Internet could crash; we need a Plan B by Danny Hillis and prepare a short (150-200 words) reaction post that discusses how concerned we should be about cyber risks and dependence on the Internet in modern society. Reference at least one interesting point or question you noted as you watched Hillis' talk and relate to the three components of risk: likelihood, vulnerability, and consequence, if possible. Is this something emergency managers should be concerned about? Explain your answer.

Once a hazard has been recognized as a potential occurrence that could cause harm in a location, two key sets of activities need to follow: monitoring and preparedness. Select a natural or human-caused hazard that can result in an emergency or disaster. Write a short description of ways -- tools and processes -- to monitor real-time for that hazard. Note if monitoring would be continuous, or if not, what would trigger the need for monitoring and when. (200 to 250 words)
