Tourism in Szolnok is seen as a development option that will provide a source of income and employment that can be widely dispersed throughout the county and assist in further development. The sparsely populated characteristics of the county, together with its agricultural base and sensitive environmental features, require that tourism be developed in a controlled and systematic manner if its development is not to herald serious environmental and social damage. The future development of tourism in the county must use and exploit the natural resources of the region while acknowledging the fragility of such natural resources. Therefore, its tourism plan should be based upon a development scenario which operates in harmony with the local environment

(b) Tourism planning in Szolnok would comprise of six stages. Briefly explain these stages by supporting your answer with appropriate examples from the case study

(c) With reference to the above exposé, discuss any two reasons why planning and development of tourism in Szolnok might not be able "to go hand in hand with the protection of the environment"

(d) As tourism planners, describe any two tools which you might utilize to control tourism development in Szolnok. Provide examples to support your answer
