Review information at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) critical infrastructure protection web page. Describe in your own words one sector of critical infrastructure and:

1. explain why/how it is critical,

2. describe at least one interdependency it has on or with another critical infrastructure sector,

3. name at least one specific, real example of a facility or site that is part of the sector you discuss;

4. describe a hazard that could cause interruption of or damage the facility or site you named and the potential consequences associated with the hazard.

You are a new emergency manager or corporate risk manager for an organization (public or private sector; you choose) with multiple locations in several cities in different states.

The organization has never completed security surveys as described in the text or risk assessments for its locations. You want to advocate for risk assessments for each location at an upcoming meeting you have with the chief operating officer (COO). Prepare your remarks for how you will make the case for the investment in risk assessment to the COO. (200 to 250 words)
