Question 1: Be prepared to define three (3) methods used for the study of religion explored by our class, and describe in detail the way these methods are used, being certain to cite material from Cunningham's text, Ursula King's article, and class discussions in your answer.

Question 2: Be prepared to define two (2) aspects of religion among those explored in class. Then, describe how these aspects are applied in the study of religions, being certain to cite material from Cunningham's book and class discussions in your answer.

Question 3: Be prepared to apply the three methods you discussed in Question 1 AND the two aspects you mentioned in Question 2, in a clear and thorough analysis of TWO (2) of the following religious traditions examined in class: Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, China, Aztec Religion, Lakota spiritual traditions, Hinduism Be certain to cite ERes readings, class presentations, and material from Ellwood's book about each tradition you choose to answer

Question 4: Be prepared to compare and contrast theology, ritual practice, and understanding and use of sacred texts in Islam and Christianity, as well as how these two faiths have exhibited both innovation and maintenance of tradition over time. Be certain to cite texts from assigned readings and material presented in class in your answer.

Question 5: Be prepared to clearly define post-modernism as discussed in class and in assigned readings, and how fundamentalism and the interaction of religion and popular culture are responses to the social and cultural realities of the current post-modern era. Be certain to cite ERes readings about post-modernism, fundamentalism, and at least ONE (1) form of popular culture in your answer.

Question 6: Be prepared to discuss how you now define "religion," including how your views may have changed since the beginning of the semester. Then, conclude with evidence from TWO (2) religious traditions we have examined to show your definition is accurate in describing those cases.
