Question - The report is based on a case study for the bank of America. Need help with the part where it requires the statistical analysis. It would be combination of t-tests and ANOVAs maybe some correlation tests.
Need help with steps 4, 5 and 6 and 7.
Step 4 - Method - Research design
Start the section with a broad description of the overall research design - in this case is it exploratory or conclusive (quantitative)? Spend a sentence or two discussing why this type of research design is the best way to approach your research project.
Questionnaire design has already been done in this case but you might want to discuss the various measurement scales used in the survey (example: nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio?). What about special rating scales used, for example - to measure e.g., satisfaction or quality of service?)
For the sample design, provide and justify assumptions regarding the following:
- Target population
- Survey method used
- Sample size
- Sampling procedures (probability or non-probability)
Step 5 Method - Data analysis
Give a description of the overall data analysis methodology. Include definition of the hypothesis testing process and statements of the null and alternative hypotheses tested. Also, remember to include variables examined. Explain data checking, re-coding, justify your selection of statistical methods and any assumptions made during the analysis.
Step 6 Results
Your results section will have to test at least 4-6 hypotheses.
First, discuss the target population for the study. You might want to provide some descriptive statistics here e.g., how many females compared to males etc.
Then outline each of the hypotheses, perform the correct text, and discuss what you found. Note that there is not a separate heading for the appropriate use of statistical techniques. This will be assessed by looking at your hypotheses and your results.
Remember the following:
- Results must be linked to hypotheses/research objectives and should be clearly presented.
- Have you recognised any 'unexpected' results and explained why?
- Select the appropriate tables and graphs to present the findings - please do not put all tables here, only selected main tables - you can put other tables in the Appendices.
- Findings should be interpreted thoroughly.
HINT: Complicated statistical analyses such as multiple regression, t-tests and ANOVA will be awarded more marks compared to cross-tabs and correlation.
Step 7 - Managerial recommendations and conclusions
From your findings above, what recommendations can you provide to managers at Bank of America? In other words, using your results, advise the managers on what issues they might need to consider.
HINT: Provide recommendations based on each and every hypothesis made and subsequent results found.
Keep in mind that you are not introducing anything NEW here, just recapping what you wanted to find out (the research problem) and what you ended up discovering.
If you have the word count, then you might discuss what future research Bank of America might want to consider.
