QM ASSIGNMENT

Part A

The Project Management Office for your company would like to see the critical path for your major milestones, as well as the earliest-latest starting and finishing times. Based on the project plan developed earlier in the project, the milestones, dependencies, and effort times are as follows:

Using Excel QM software (located in the Add-ins section or across the tool bar) and looking in the Project Management category (located in either the QM or Render links in Excel QM), select the Predecessor List (AON) link.

Fill in the data per the table above. Generate the critical path graph (by checking "Include the graph") when generating the appropriate matrix. This selection will also generate the earliest-latest starting and finishing times.

Copy the input table, resulting table, and critical path Gantt chart in to your team's Risk Management Plan under section 2.4.2 Quantitative Analysis - Excel QM.

Part B

The Project Management Office has received a decision from the senior leadership of your organization, to bring the project timeline in from the current 26 weeks (based on the information above). Your team has been asked to look at crashing the schedule to 14 weeks.

The Project Management Office would like to know if the schedule can be crashed to 14 weeks and what the cost would be to crash the schedule.

Using Excel QM software and looking in the Project Management category, choose the Crashing link. Fill in the data based on the 9 milestones from both tables (Part A and B). Copy the resulting table in to your team's Risk Management Plan in section 2.4.2 Quantitative Analysis - Excel QM after the results of Part A.

Note: you may need to add the Solver tool to Excel QM if you do not see it in the Data Analysis section of QM. To do this go to the main TOOLS menu in the top tool bar, click on Add-Ins, and then select Solver.

In addition to the information in Part A you have the following data:
