Q - What do you think about the ways in which Mann has used her family in her work, including both the Immediate Family series, pictures of her children from the early 1990's and the Proud Flesh series of her husband (Consider photographic technique, lighting, framing, focus, meaning, and/or ethics...).

A - Sally Mann is a very pellicular artist. She seems to be a perfectionist. Mann using her family in her artwork was very unethical to me. She took picture of her children naked on too many occasions. Along with having them prance around naked until she got the picture she needed. Even though I don't completely respect the type of work she does because i see it as child pornography and not art. I do like how her art shows emotion, confusion and is very different to what you would except to see. The chemicals she uses to create photographs that are not perfect as she see but gloomy and clear images. Whether Mann uses her children, dog bones or scenery in her photos she still know how to make the viewer mind wonder along with grabbing their attention.
