PURPOSE

The purpose of this assessment is to demonstrate your knowledge, planning and research skills regarding body treatments.

ASSESSMENT TASK

PART A

You are required to choose three (3) of the clients that you have completed your practical assessment on, and design a sequence of four (4) treatments per client.

You are required to use the client consultation cards that have already been completed in the practical treatments for each of these clients.

You are to design the sequence so it maximises the client's outcomes and minimises damage

You must choose one of the electrical devices listed below in each of the four (4) treatments for the three (3) treatment sequences that you design.
• Direct current (galvanic)
• High frequency
• Steamer
• G5
• Hydrotherapy
• Infrared

You must use the electrical device on one or more of the following body areas for each of the four (4) treatments in the three (3) treatment sequences that you design.
• Abdomen
• Arms
• Back
• Décolletage
• Legs
• Neck

You are required to record all information on the client consultation card/ treatment plan and enter it into the salon client management system.

PART B

You are required to answer the following questions for three clients:

1. Please explain in detail the treatment sequence, area of application and electrical device you have designed for the client and the reasons as to why you have designed this for the client.

2. What benefits will this treatment have on the appearance of the client's skin and body?

3. What products have you chosen to use on the client and why?

4. Please explain the cosmetic ingredients and ratios that you have recommended for use on the client.

5. What intensity and duration have you decided on for the chosen electrical device to suit the client's needs?

PART C - RESEARCH
You are required to choose one client from your case study, read the following questions and answer them relating to that particular client. Your answers must address the question and must be no shorter than a paragraph long. You may use the internet, your college learner guide and textbooks to complete the questions.

1. Describe the three (3) structural layers of the skin, its functions, structure and how each layer has been affected in your treatment.

2. Please give a brief description of the main function of each cell part
