Psyc of Adult Development MidTerm

Essay answers must be more than 3 or 4 brief sentences, but kept within the bounds of a short-answer essay exam (at least 1, but no more than 3, fully developed paragraphs long.

All your writing must be in your own words. Paraphrase (restate what you read) rather than copying material from the course textbook or the Internet. No copying is permitted in this course and doing so will result in zero points on the exam. Answers must be written in narrative, paragraph form. Lists and/or sentence fragments also will not receive points.

Source credits and the required Reference list attached at the end of each answer do no count toward its word length.

Answers are to be based on the course textbook and outside academic sources (excluding other course textbooks, encyclopedias such as Encarte and Wikipedia, About and Ask type websites that synthesize source information for users, magazines, news websites, blogs, etc.).

1.What are three distinct challenges young adults face as they become independent and enter the workforce? Incorporate at least one theorist's (e.g., Levinson, Erikson) work into your response.

2. What factors help or hinder young adults in terms of forming a "work identity?" What role can social networking sites play in these transitions?

3. What are some factors that contribute to successful romantic/marital relationships in adulthood? What factors contribute to breakups/divorces?

4.Compare and contrast two types of marriages as per Cuber and Haroff's research. What are the pros and cons of each type?

5.What does the research literature tell us about the romantic relationships of military members? What role does deployment play?
