The purpose of this assignment is to illustrate the understanding of the content and format required when submitting a bid to host a conference.
The International Association for Agriculture will be celebrating their 50th annual convention in 2020. They are currently seeking bids from their global Association branches to host this annual convention.
Create a bid for Calgary, Edmonton, Canada.
The International Association for Agriculture Convention Information:
• Attracts 1,200 - 1,500 participants from 30 countries
• Lasts 4 days and will be held June 5-9, 2020
Selection Criteria Includes:
Welcome to Calgary
• Explain how the International Association for Agriculture is a good fit for Calgary
- The city needs to be safe and offer a welcoming/multicultural environment to its global delegation
- Address Calgary's sustainable and green credentials
Calgary Telus Convention Centre
• Explain how the center's location and features, such as wireless internet, ease in exhibit move in and out, awards and other similar conventions it has held, would attract either a planner and/or its delegates
• Explain how this convention center is suited to this conventions needs
- Convention venue must be capable to accommodate plenary (theatre style) sessions of up to 1,500 people
- Convention venue must offer quality food and beverage

§ Able to accommodate onsite breakfast and lunch meals of up to 1,200
- All meetings and exhibits are to be held within the entire convention centre even if they are in separate areas
- Meetings require audiovisual services and internet capabilities

• Address the ease of accessibility to Calgary from various countries
• Explain Calgary's different modes of accessible ground transportation

• The destination needs to accommodate approximately 2,000 guests
• The destination must provide a wide selection of 4 and 5 star hotels nearby, preferably within walking distance to the venue.
• Alternative to hotels such as university dormitories and hostels should also be mentioned

• An international bank and an internet cafe should be within the area of the Convention venue
