WVU parking has been a major issue to the students. Students spend at least 45 minutes or more to find a parking spot.

This is because there are only 300 parking spot for students and a population of 28,776 students since the fall of 2015. In the near future, I would like to speak with the WVU transportation department to try and find out why there is no enough parking spaces for the students.

The discussion will also focus on whether the department is planning to have more parking spaces for the students.

Whether the parking space will be free to students or not will also be discussed and any other plans they have concerning the parking lots for students.

I tried to conduct some research in the WVU's transportation and parking website but I did not find any useful information as to why there is no enough parking spaces and why students have to pay for parking, when they are in their learning institution. Parking issues were not having much information and this is why the answers could not be found.

The best answer to these questions and issues will be found from interviewing the WVU Transportation and parking department

Please mention that I got the answers from (Kimberly Hartsell) she's the parking director. Also mention that they wasn't that helpful and I got the answers from an email because she was too busy to do an interview.

1)Why there's not enough parking or a bigger parking garage in downtown Area for the students ?Parking garages are very expensive to build average cost for one space in a garage is $15,000 per space. Parking on downtown campus is a problem because there just is not the space for more parking.

2)Why do we pay for parking if we're Students ? Everyone including employees pay for parking on campus. There is no free parking.

3)In Future would there be more parking spaces for students? Are they for free? At this time I have not heard of plans for additional parking on campus. Please keep in mind that UPlace garage is available to students for short term parking.

4)Do you know that Students spends almost 45 minutes to find parking, what's your opinion on that? There is parking available it just isn't in a prime location. On the Evansdale campus there is Short term 8 at the Alumni Center. On the Downtown campus there is Uplace garage. Both of these lots are underutilized. Both lots are just a short walk to campus.

5)As i know that there's almost 300 parking spot in downtown and there's approximately 28,776 students attend the main campus downtown and there's not enough parking what do you say about this? Again, there is parking available on both campuses that are underutilized.
