Electronic communication poses potential problems in maintaining the confidentiality of consumer information. As a paralegal, you will need to reinforce your office's ethical duty of confidentiality to clients.

To do this well, you must be familiar with weaknesses in security to electronic communications such as email and fax transmissions as well as safeguards to protecting client information.

Using your own experience, common sense, your readings, and at least one source other than your textbook or virtual lectures, list five steps that can be taken by a paralegal to ensure the confidentiality of e-mail and fax communications.
