Project Task:

The objective of this project is to familiarize students with real life financial markets and asset valuation, obtaining financial information from various public sources and evaluating this information.

Students can find relevant information on the Internet, annual reports, TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, and personal interviews with knowledgeable experts.

This exercise will allow the student to find and use information found from the above sources to analyze Dubai or Abu Dhabi Stock Market.

The Project problem:

The students are required to analyze the Dubai Financial Markets and Abu Dhabi stock Markets by describing the nature and the development of these financial markets. Explain the difference between money markets and capital markets. Comparing the different types of financial markets securities by choosing one company listed in either markets and makes a report about it.

The Report should have the following items:

A. Stock markets Profile

1) Dubai Financial Markets

2) Abu Dhabi stock Markets

B. Money Markets and Capital market profile

1) The difference between money markets and Capital markets

2) The company listed in each market.

C. Company profile

1) Where is the headquarters of your company? Who is the CEO, CFO? ?When was your company founded?

2) In which stock markets the company's stock is trading and what is the ticker symbol? Does the company have any Debt; if yes list all the existing Debt?

3) What is your company's primary business line? What products / services are produced by your company? What industries group your company belongs?

4) What is the size of your company? (Total assets, total sales, and total number of employees)

5) What is the EPS, PE ratio for your company? (Compare through past 3 years and to competitors/industry).

6) What is the market price of stock? (Graph using excel the past performance of the company's daily stock price for the past three years along with the market index- both at the same graph!)

7) What is your company`s and its' competitors' ROA and ROE for the past three years? (Graphs)

8) What is your company`s and its' competitors' debt ratio for the past three years? (Graphs)

D. Opinions and recommendations
Conclusions (what do you predict/expect, and why?). Is this company positioned to enjoy profitability in the short/intermediate/long term? Would you recommend buying the stock of the company? Why?
