Project Description In this project, you will determine if the company producing this product is correct in advertising that it grows up to 600%. Does it really grow up to 600% of its original size as stated on the package? The package also shows what the creature will look like after growing for certain amounts of time. Your task in this project is to determine if this company is honestly advertising the product. You should grow one of these creatures yourself and report your findings in a well-written report. Some things that you might want to consider for determining the growth of the critter are:

•How will you measure the size of the critter as it is growing in the water? •Should you measure it with a ruler or other means?

•How will you determine the volume of the critter as it is growing? •Should you use water displacement as a means of measurement?

•Would it be helpful to trace the critter before beginning the project? •Would it be helpful to trace the critter throughout the growth?

•How often will you record a growth rate change? •Will the rate of change always be the same as it is growing or will it change?

•What other factors could influence the critter’s growth such as temperature or light?

Report In a Microsoft Word document, clearly and concisely report your findings. Within your report, be creative, colorful and convince the reader of your findings. Begin your report with an introduction to the project and how you approached it. Discuss the methods that you utilized in determining the rate of growth of the critter and report your findings and support them with graphs, charts and anything else that would prove your results. (Hint: Microsoft Excel is a great tool that could help you with this.) Finally, conclude your report by discussing if this product should remain on the shelves to be sold or if it should be pulled from retail for false advertising.
