Professor Kerich,

One of the challenges faces by operations managers in the ability to fulfill their roles is the advancement and use of technology. While technology can be a great way to advance operations, it may not be feasible to use within all aspects of the process. With that said, the challenge for most stem from the expensive initial cost for implementation, host of maintaining the technology and constantly updating it to make sure you are retrieving maximum output, and there is also a high risk of mismanagement of the technology which in turn can become counterproductive (Management Study Guide Content Team, 2017).
