Principles and foundations of health promotion and education (6th ed.). Consider the similarities and differences among the different locations. Compare your classmate's data to your own local data.

What were the similarities and differences between the type of data you obtained?

Discuss the similarities in data between the two locations. Compare the most significant health condition in your local area to that of your classmate's. Discuss the possibility that the same health education program could be applied to both locations. The first source of health data is local it is for Niagara county in New York, The second source of health data comes from the Center for disease control and prevention.

The leading cause of death in Niagara County is heart disease "Life expectancy in Niagara County is 77.6 years, with females having a slightly higher longevity than males. The leading causes of death according to Vital Statistics are heart disease" (niagaracounty.com). Heart disease is the leading killer in the county with 730 deaths followed by cancer with 522 deaths.

On average over 610000 people die in the United States from heart disease each year this is the leading cause of death of people within the United States "About 610,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year-that's 1 in every 4 deaths" (cdc.gov).

I believe that the numbers of heart disease in America are so high because of the amount of fast food that is readily available. Heart disease has been on an increase people do not have the diets that they use to before fast food was made so available and cheap.
