Presentation Project
Topic: Global warming impact on economies (e.g., energy and conservation policies)
Overview of Presentation
• Students will make an oral presentation to the class
• Presentation will not be accepted as completed unless professor approves it
- Students with incomplete presentations will receive an automatic F in the course
• This assignment is to help students make transition into work world by
- Providing students with presentation experience;
- Requiring students to make observations and draw conclusions from data;
- Taking a news story or trend and providing explanatory context (historical, demographic, or economic) in order to understand why it is happening.
Description of Presentation
• Seven-ten minute oral presentation to the class (w/ question and answer session to follow)
• Presentation will consist of the following elements:
- Background on the nation (major industries, demographics)
- The economic issue the nation faces (including demographic, emigration, immigration)
- How the nation's political leadership is trying to do to address it as well as the accompanying obstacles that need to be overcome for the solution to be successful
• Presentation will be done in powerpoint and the file will be given to the instructor
• Presentation must include the following:
- Data
- Research sources citations (at the end of the powerpoint document)
• Presentation may include a video to illustrate a point
