Here is a list of (not exhaustive) topics to emphasize in your assessment of the article:

• The research question: nice if you frame it into a causality framework (i.e. potential outcome framework), motivated by standard economic theory.

• Why identification is facing the Fundamental Problem of Causal Inference?
• What should be an ideal experiment for this question?
• What is the identification strategy? How far could it reproduce the ideal experiment?
• To what extent the data used by the author is useful: What is the particular structure of the data that make it useful?
• Are there issues of statistical inference? How the authors deals (or not) with it?
• What are the conclusions? To what extent they are robust?
• What are the threats to internal validity of the results?
• What about the external validity of the results?
• Could you think of alternative identification strategy (you may come back to this question later on, once we have introduced other methods) and what sort of data you may need for that.

• Would these alternatives strategies be preferable or not?
• What extension would you suggest to this study?
