Prepare Presentations: MIND MATTERS, COGNITIVE AND PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF AGAING SELF- STEREOTYPES

Presentations should review and critique the assigned reading, but the majority of the presentation should focus on the critique rather than on the review. Students are required to provide a one-page to two pages written outline to accompany presentations for use by the class and to assist with grading. One point will automatically be deducted if written outlines are not submitted.

Each presentation will take a total of 5-6 minutes. Use PowerPoint slides as a backdrop for your discussion.

a. We recommend a total of 6 slides.

b. Only 2 of these slides should be summaries of what you read, including a statement of the overall purpose of the study/article; the majority of slides should be a critique of what you read (including the pros and cons of the work) and an extension of what you read to current events and/or popular culture.

c. Please include 3-4 discussion questions for the class at the end of your slides.

d. We will have a discussion session at the end of each group of presentations.

1. The one- two pages written outline (in PDF, DOC, or DOCX format) of your PowerPoint presentation

2. Full PowerPoint presentation

3. If using a YouTube video for presentation: URL Address of video presentation on YouTube (please also include the URL in your presentation outline) .Submit a video recording of your presentation using YouTube (students are responsible for learning how to do this on their own; you can find guidance for doing this on Google and/or YouTube).

So that we can get to know on-line students better, please briefly introduce yourself when calling in and/or at the beginning of voice or video recordings.
