Recommend the most effective type of power that would provide good leadership for the following situations.

1- Peter Donald is an experienced Structural Engineer. He has 25 years of solid design experience. Recently the company recruited three fresh graduates and placed them in the charge of Peter. Peter has always enjoyed technical work and is uncomfortable with an official lead position. What leadership powers are best for Peter in the initial stage?

2- Bruce Newman has recently been promoted to the position of project manager from a junior role because of a sudden vacancy. Due to his sudden rise Bruce is disliked instantly by senior staff in his team. Which type of power would help him win over his group in this situation.

3- A group is in the middle of a war zone. They are escaping an advancing platoon of enemy soldiers. They have now come to a river about 75m wide and need to devise a way to get across. The river is known to be infested by crocodiles. One of the members of the group has a twisted ankle and needs to be carried. The tools at the disposal of the group are - A 100m long rope, a knife, a torch, a toothbrush, 10 cans of meat (this is the last food left for the group), a fishing rod and a gallon of drinking water. It is estimated that the advancing enemy will reach the river front in 15 min. Only the leader is aware of this. The group is asked to deal with this situation. What should be done and why?
