Please response to a discussion post below from a classmate.

The three concepts or ideas I have gathered from my time in class are the basic principles of servant leadership, leadership and culture in military operations, and leadership and communications. There were numerous lessons taught in class that will enable me to make better decisions and/or improve my ability to deliver briefings at the organizational level, but these three really brought it "home" for me as we look to transition to a different department.

Following the lesson on servant leadership, it truly solidified my belief that you have to be a great follower in order to be a good leader. There are going to be times throughout our tenure as senior leaders that will require us to serve as servant leaders. Understanding the basic principles of servant leadership will undoubtedly enable each of us to serve our individual organizations better, inspire our subordinates through empowerment to make decisions, and embolden our leaders.

Additionally, using a servant leadership style will better prepare you to apply skills from others lessons such as leadership and culture in military operations, by helping identify an individuals deeply rooted values and beliefs, as well as in leadership and communications, by building on the fundamentals such as active listing, influencing outside of the chain of command, and utilizing interpersonal tact. Furthermore, using servant leadership helps develop and reinforce a senior leader's ability to think both critically and creatively while executing their positional and personal power.
