What are the pros and cons of these arguments? The biggest pro to staying with state governments is setting up motions that only affect that one certain state. The death penalty is in effect in majority of the southern states but it is not welcome in majority of the states lining the Cape Cod area. Having Federalism lets the government focus on bigger problems like terrorism rather than worrying about local problems that a state could be facing. Another pro to having Federalism is not placing all of the power within on place meaning the government. Even today you hear of people saying that the government has too much power well without Federalism this would be true. Wealth factor is the largest con when it comes to discussing Federalism looking at California as an example where they have many attractions where this draws in more money than states like Nebraska for example which is known for corn.

Getting rid of state governments would spread this money around the country so that poorer states do not become poorer. Would concentrating all power in the federal government pose a serious threat to privacy and constitutional rights?

There have been many situations that the government has invaded an individual's privacy by placing more power within the government this would increase. Looking in to the constitution I never saw a right to privacy. The right to privacy boils down into statutory law. What is your position on the issue? I think that even though most think that Federalism is an old and out dated way that is costing Americans more money each year it is a system that works. I have seen it many times where people have relocated because a state had similar beliefs as them. A big topic is gun rights, if you took someone from New York and showed them just how many people open carry in the state of Arizona they would lose their mind. So I think refraining from giving all power to the government is a fantastic idea.
