Then, briefly discuss how knowing this information will help you choose literature for your classroom.

This information is very helpful because I now know what to look for in a book, if I have students going through certain issues I can help them with a book, on goofy days we can read books that make us laugh or when we are having a hard time we can read a book about tragedy so they know they are not alone in how they are feeling.

When we have an assignment or fun project about going on a quest we can start by reading a book about other people going on quest. "Every day, stuff happens. Just like adults, children have desires and needs, and we all try to fulfill them: We eat, we sleep, we love, we hate, we complain, we worship, we work, we play, we cry, we laugh.

Through it all, we try to make sense of the things that happen. Throughout human history, the most persistent way we have tried to put things into some meaningful order or context is through stories."(Coats, K. Sec 4.2) I believe this is such a powerful statement so this is why information like this is helpful. Overall this is another tool I need in my classroom to better help and mold the children I will be teaching.
