Think of a conflict that you've witnessed, been involved in or heard about. Think of what led up to this conflict, how it unfolded and how it was resolved.

Now, think about what we've discussed about the various styles of speech, structures and vocal tactics. If you were in this same conflict again, how would you use what you've learned to resolve the disagreement, or avoid it entirely?

Could you use persuasive tactics to defuse the situation before it erupted? Would you have controlled your inflection or vocal output so that your delivery changed the way a message was interpreted? How could your nonverbal communication contributed in a more positive way?
