There are a multitude factors to consider when deciding to choose a career field that will present a sense of belonging. The workplace should be an environment that is open and able to provide a desire to work successfully. Each employee that comes in your organization has different skills and motivations.

An organization must be able to take dissatisfaction away from their employees and allow them to reach a level of comfort. This may prompt an organization to focus specifically on the individual and allow them to display what they would like from your organization. There are motivational theories that can be applied to reach levels of productivity.

Maslow's Hierarchy Needs theory can be applied in the workplace to the employees as well as to the overall leadership of the organization.

Maslow's theory is very important because it states that "individuals' most basic needs must be met before they become motivated to achieve higher level needs (Acevedo, 2018)". Maslow's theory has been classified as one of the most influential theories in organizational behavior. Maslow's theory incorporates 5 basic needs. They include "physiological, safety and security, love and belongingness, self-esteem..., and self actualization (Acevedo, 2018)".

The Expectancy Theory is founded on the notion that people will be the most motivated within the workplace if they have a firm belief that they will receive a desired reward if they hit an achievable target (Shriar, 2015).

The theory also brings attention to the fact that individuals will not really have much motivation if they do not see that their efforts or contributions will have any significance to the organization. There are three elements that form together to make the Expectancy Theory.

The first element is Expectancy, which is the likelihood that attempting the behavior will result in successful execution of the behavior (Baumann & Bonner, 2017). The second element is Instrumentality, which is the impact of each behavior on these outcomes (Baumann & Bonner, 2017). The third element is valance, which is the desirability of outcomes associated with each behavior (Baumann & Bonner, 2017). This theory highlights the fact that at any time an individual is capable in attempting any set of potential behavior.

The Three-Dimensional Theory of Attribution is important because it allows individuals the opportunity to attach meaning to their own behavior. This theory as stated by Weiner states that the reason we can attribute to our behavior can influence how we behave in the future (Forsyth & McMillan, 1981).

Weiner included his theory to have three characteristics that are associated to the motivation of individuals which can be affected. The three characteristics are stability, locus of control and controllability. The stability characteristics is based on the fact that stable attributions for achievement can lead to positive motivations but on the other hand in negative situation stable attribution can lead to lower expectations (Shriar, 2015 ).

Locus of control is based on whether an even is caused by an internal or external factor (Forsyth & McMillan, 1981). The last characteristic of Controllability, according to Weiner states that controllability can influence outcomes (Shriar, 2015). This highlights the concept of having personal control and swaying away from losing control which can result in a deficit in motivation.

Maslow's hierarchy theory of needs can be a great theory to apply within an organizational setting to support positive employee demeanor in the midst of change. It's not a surprise that the ideal workplace is certainly growing with different populations. Maslow's theory is great because it will allow the employee to see the value of their role. Maslow's theory allows for an organization to move through a pyramid that will seek to reach the basic needs of the employees'.

Employers should highlight the level of investment towards that employee of the future. If employees feel that their organization will support them in other aspects of their lives they will be more inclined to have positive motivation to work. The workplace needs to show a sense of belongingness and incorporate ways for the employee to grow personally, which will promote positive self- esteem and increase responsibility to reduce negative impacts of outsourcing.
