This is the question respond to the response

Which one of the management theories identified and described in the two Webliography readings on management thought development do you feel best describes the way in which you have managed (or have been managed) and which one of those management theories do you feel is best?

Provide an example if illustrative and explanatory of your choice.

Defend your position for the theory you feel is best.

In my current situation, I believe that I am being managed under the Bureaucratic theory.

Our office is organized in a hierarchal order and you cannot stray from that order. My bosses like to flaunt their title and base decisions solely on the fact that they are higher in the "pecking" order.

No matter who the employee is, they could have a fantastic idea to either make us more efficient, or just a general suggestion, it will never be taken into consideration because our boss wasn't the one to come up with it first.

My boss likes to make extra work of keeping extensive record keeping and making rules that we all have to abide to. They also like to flex their muscles and exercise their control over the employees. I don't believe this is the best way to manage because it is extremely hard to please the bosses.

Even though appreciation is not always needed, in Bureaucratic theory they do not show appreciation because it is expected.

Not only expected, they expect you to go above it. I think with our generation they expect to be praised because that is how we grew up. We grew up getting participation ribbons even if we didn't come in first. This has made us not try so hard because we will get recognized anyway. Therefore, I believe that the Human Relations will be the way that management will head towards.
