"Wildfires are regenerative for the forest, revitalizing for the watershed, renew the soil, and reset the clock for the ecosystem" (Donovan). Forest fires help in the regular cycle of environmental development. They also play an active role in the renewal and improvement of wildlife habitats. Therefore, forest fires should be left alone because they occur naturally and benefit wildlife. Forest fires are helpful and are not harmful because they help release seeds and breaks down nutrients into the soil.

Forest fires release seeds and empower the development of certain tree species. "Many forests cannot sustain themselves without natural wildfire, including pine barrens, lodgepole pine forests, Eucalyptus forests and many more. These forests require canopy fires to regenerate because the trees in the forest are adapted to only produce seeds following a major fire event" (Donovan). Forest fires help certain tree species to reproduce. This generally empowers these tree species to flourish in number. Therefore, fires can be regenerative for the forest. However, without forest fires many of these forest types would decline and soon become extinct. Some people may think that forest fires harm strong, well-established trees. Even though this is true, forest fires have more benefits because they produce more trees than the trees that are burned. Not only do they produce more trees, they improve and enhance the development of tree species and the environment as a whole.
Forest fires breaks down nutrients into the soil by decomposing deceased organisms. "Not to mention renewal of the soil chemistry which is vital to the forest and the watershed" (Donovan). Forest fires destroys harmful deceased organisms that may prevent roots from growing properly and reaching nutrients. It also helps the sun reach trees easier, so that trees can be healthier. Some people may think that forest fires may destroy entire environments and ecosystems. Even though environments and ecosystems may be completely destroyed by such forest fires, the barren land always develops and improves into a healthier and younger environment with a more complex ecosystem. Therefore, forest fires benefit environments because they provide more nutrients for the living organisms.

Forest fires are generally helpful. They help release seeds and generally empower the development of certain tree species, and clear deceased organisms from the the forest floor so new plants can develop which returns nutrients to the soil. All of this leads to an improved wildlife habitat.
