(I am a VET)

1. In the last class the topic of recruiting of veterans and military personnel, a large population, targeted by colleges and universities came up as an issue. I am working for a college here in WV and yes, we all are eager to recruit veterans and military personnel since we know there is a big market out there. There are also many compliances to fulfill by a college/university when serving veterans and designated staff is being hired. An then there are of course the agencies, that are responsible for reinforcing the guidelines we need to follow - complaints can be filed any time - which is great and creates accountability.

What are your thoughts?

2. what are your thoughts in general regarding meeting quotas and having to meet certain goals?

How beneficial is it to the customer? Does it always benefit the organization?

I am thinking how "pushy" some businesses are - for example, a furniture store in my town, I love their furniture and I have bought several pieces there, but I just hate being welcomed by the door by several employees and then followed throughout the store, even when I indicated I am just looking. When making my last purchase, for that reason I didn't go to that store at all to browse and perhaps making that purchase.
