Many popular magazines have surveys containing questions for readers to answer and then submit their responses. Many people participate in these surveys. Find a survey in a magazine or newspaper and share it with the class.

Post your answers to these questions:

• Overall, what did you notice about the survey?

• Were all of the questions written clearly?

• What types of people do you think would answer the survey?

• What types of people do you think would not answer it?

• If only a certain type of people answer the survey, how would that affect the results?

• What would you do to improve the sampling of the survey you found?
