When either type of communication breaks down, the potential for conflict increases. Identifying and understanding why disputes arise provides experience to manage conflict in the future.

For this activity, you will discuss a first-hand account of a workplace conflict you experienced or observed. Consider the sources of the conflict, the role of interpersonal and intrapersonal perceptions, and incompatible goals in that conflict. If the conflict was settled, examine how and why it was resolved. If it wasn't resolved, discuss how it could have been settled.
