Persuasive Speech: You will assume the chief administrator role of a criminal justice agency. You have called all your staff together to set diversity expectations. This roadmap should include, but is not limited to: (a) the role of your agency and diversity expectations within said agency inclusive of recruiting, retention and promotion; (b) the perception and role of your agency in light of the diversity expectations within the community of your jurisdiction, and your agency’s path as of today; (c) the role of your agency in cross cultural communications both within your agency and in the community; (d) the role of your agency in multicultural communications and operations in light of terrorism, homeland security, hate crimes, bias crimes, homelessness, mental illness, and racial profiling. You may arrange and present expectations to your staff in any order and with any emphasis that you believe most appropriate. The most important aspect is that you present expectations to your staff in a clear, concise manner that leaves no margin for misunderstanding.
