Partyworld (PW) is a business located in an area of Los Angeles called Koreatown. PW began in Taiwan and is a business where there are many rooms devoted to Karaoke. The original intention in opening PW in the United States was based on the huge success of PW in Taiwan where women would come with their girlfriends to PW for an evening of fun singing songs, drinking some whiskey and eating snacks. The popularity of PW was not the same in the U.S. as in Taiwan. PW's owner (James Liu) was told by his college roommate from his days at USC (Lame Coughin) that he should cater to men and use the rooms for men to get together to drink and parade in a line of women where each man could pick a woman to dance for him. Liu was desperate, having made a huge investment in PW in the U.S. including a $25,000 a month tenyear lease, so he followed Coughin's idea. PW hired 150 women ages 18-22 to work at PW. Many of the dancers were students at USC who realized their college decision was not going to lead them to a promising career, so this opportunity seemed like a good way to make some nice money. Each dancer had to sign an agreement that stated they were not employees of PW. In this agreement each dancer was told she had to dress in an outfit that fit her ethnic background. For example, if a girl was Vietnamese she was to wear an Ao Dai. If a girl was Japanese she was to wear a Kimono or dress as an Anime character. If a girl was Indian she was to wear a Saree.

Q: Select the answer.

1. If any of the dancers wanted to bring a claim against PW for failure to pay them the minimum wage or overtime hours then which court determination would help them:

A. Being deemed to be a United States citizen

B. Being deemed to be employees of PW

C. Being deemed to be independent contractors of PW

D. All of the above

E. Being deemed to be credible witnesses by virtue of having at least made UCLA's admission wait list when trying to get into college
